• A state agency desired to upgrade their
Bond Management System from ORACLE 7 to ORACLE 8i; connecting 500+
branches and sub-branches together for transactions relating to
bond issuing, buying and selling. The new application retained all
core functionalities. Significant regression testing was required
to ensure the precise functioning of complex calculations for over
61 subordinate governmental agencies.

Enhancement; Oracle
• Similar to the Budget Management System
above, the objective of this project was to upgrade the Value Added
Tax application of a federal agency, from ORACLE 7 to ORACLE 8i;
and allowing input and data inquiry of Tax Identification Numbers
and related documents from over 600+ locations. This project included
some application enhancements, to adapt the application for new
VAT laws.
Example: Telephone company CDR Billing Application;
Analysis and Development; Oracle
• Client is a financially independent
unit belonging to a major country's post and telecommunications.
The client company designs, develops and manages/operates cellular
networks and services, with branches in over 61 provinces and about
2 million subscribers.
• The application is responsible for
doing following tasks:
• Centralized management of Call Detail
Record for GSM Mobile Phone System: Read, convert CDR files from
central to Oracle database and calculate billing charges.
• Compare billing information and generate
comparison reports.
• Generate several statistical reports
for management purposes.
• Integrate with existing file transfer,
roaming systems to get and import data.
• Technologies used: Rational Rose modelling
tool, MS Windows NT, Oracle 8i Database Server, Oracle Designer
2000/Developer 2000, MS Visual C++ 6.0, MS Visual SourceSafe, Perl,
Platform: ALCATEL and Eriksson telephone switches.

Example: Major Bank Hi-Availability Payment
System; Development; Oracle
• Customer payment system for a large
bank. Functionality included:
• Allow tellers to generate fund transfer
messages between 1,200 branches
• Allow verifier, authorizer review and
approval of monetary messages before sending them to the Clearing
and Settlement Center of the bank.
• Receive monetary messages from the
branches; perform clearing and settling for all messages at Clearing
and Settlement Center of the bank. Messages after being processed
will be forwarded to the receiving branch.
• Monitoring status of all messages and
reconcile messages exchanged via the intrabank payment system.
• Generate standard reports.
• Interface with SWIFT, Telex systems.
