Example: Major Commercial Bank Central Payment System; Re-Engineered; Netware
A major commercial bank, with more than 200+ branches, had implemented a Central Payment System in 1997, which was based on the Netware platform and used a customized middleware product to connect the central office with branch offices over a dial-up network. In 2002, the bank decided to migrate the application to a Microsoft Windows platform, and use either a WAN or the Internet inter-system communication. Responsibilities included full software development life cycle, test and implementation of all interfaces with legacy systems, such as the retail banking application, Human Resource management application, MIS, etc., and deployment to 200+ branch offices.
