Example: Industry Plug-in carbonization; Conversion; Mac OS 9 to OS X
This project ported an existing set of plug-ins and tools from Mac OS 9 to Mac OS X, so as to be compatible with a new version of QuarkXPress and carbonized for OS X. The code had been archived and Agilis Solutions had to recreate the development environment and upgrade it to a new compiler compatible with OS X (a significant change). All libraries were updated, modifications made to support changes in API calls, file I/O, and networking for both the Quark XDK and OS X. In addition, the UI was upgraded to be Aqua compliant for OS X. A new installer was created compatible with both QuarkXPress and OS X. Agilis Solutions performed all aspects of development, unit test, and final QA prior to customer acceptance and product release. The project was delivered on time and on budget. Since release, the escape rate has been 1 defect. It was determined that it's potential effect to end users was less than 1% and would not have been caught as part of normal QA efforts.
Example: Software Company Asset Management; File Format support for both Mac OS 9/OSX and Windows
This project provided file format support for the Digital Asset Management (DAM) product targeted at specific file formats for Adobe, Quark, and Microsoft for both Windows and Mac OS 9 and OS X environments. The feasibility study focused on determining if their API would support the targeted file formats, what specific features could be supported through the API, the amount of effort that would be required, and the delivery schedule. In addition the above deliverables, Agilis Solutions developed preliminary prototypes, successfully demonstrated our understanding of the technical challenges, and our approach for integrating into the client's product development process. The project was completed on time and on budget. Agilis Solutions has been approved to complete all remaining phases of the project to develop, test and release the products. Additionally, Agilis Solutions is the vendor of choice for providing this type of support for future releases.
